Muskegon’s Westshore Family Medicine Achieves

Excellence in Family Practice Medicine

 

Muskegon, MI, Aug. 23, 2011 - Health Plan of Michigan (HPM) recently recognized mercy Health Partners’ Westshore Family Medicine of Muskegon for their outstanding quality and service. Westshore Family Medicine is among twenty-five healthcare practices throughout Michigan to receive the distinction.

 

Honored healthcare providers were identified as the top primary care offices in the state through a rigorous selection process based on Health Plan of Michigan’s 2010 Quality Incentive Plan. “We wanted to recognize our top performing healthcare providers for their commitment to quality and service,” said Sean Kendall, Director of Network Development for Health Plan of Michigan. “We truly value the access to quality services they provide to our Medicaid Members.”

 

Performance criteria are based on a minimum of 100 qualifying participants with 80% or more meeting the following standards:

 

q       Childhood immunizations, before age 2

q       Well-child Visits before, age 2 and from age 3 to age 5

q       Adolescent Well Visits, ages 12 – 21

q       Blood Lead Testing, age 0-2

q       Breast Cancer Screening, females age 40-69

q       Cervical Cancer Screening, females age 21-64

q       Chlamydia Screening, females age 16-21

q       Comprehensive Diabetes Care, 18-75 year olds with diabetes (Types I & II)

q       Tobacco Cessation Counseling

q       Prenatal Care

q       Postpartum Care

 

Westshore Family Medicine provides medical care to the entire family, from obstetrics, newborns and pediatric to adults and geriatrics, as well as Sick Kid Express - an early morning clinic for sick kids.
